POETRY IS AND ECHO ASKING A SHADOW TO DANCE

RACH’S SECOND

Never would I ever had imagined
The journey on black and white keys
The cochlear ramp, to a kind of beauty
To impossible to fit
Within flesh and bones paralyzed
by wonder of hands soaring beyond the skies

He had surrender to the undertow of the subconscious
To free his soul from the cage of failure
You never saw it, standing on its own
You just wandered the ominous moderato,
Brooding under the spell of Russian church bells
And then, you took me there, to your healing place
Introspective, dreamy, serene
“All by myself,” echoed in me.
It was not his! And Yet, “all by myself” revealed his origin
Now is time for a wink
Scherzando, a wave of triumph erupts taking all with it
And as you signed farewell
I added my imprint to it

And so, it begins
The long and winding road
Tears and goosebumps
The eternal thread binding it all
Voicing its truth in melodies and chords
The Second, the Third, which ever your score
Stripes me bare of armors and masks
The static dies away
Leaving only the song
Me and you,
Me,
Undone by the terrifying grace of being seen
more clearly than ever before
You,
Breathless light
Of one who could read my soul
And anchored me at last in a harbor
that knew the shores, I must explore
